About Nancy Bartke

Nancy Bartke grew up singing and dancing, and playing sousaphone in her family’s Dixieland jazz band.

At the age of 12, she performed with soprano Beverly Sills in Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera La Loca at the San Diego Opera. With her family’s band she appeared on The Gong Show, at Anaheim Stadium, and the Sacramento Jazz Festival. She received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University, was a Teaching Fellow and received her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, and received a Diploma in Opera Performance from the “Mozarteum” in Salzburg, Austria.

In Austria, Nancy performed as a soloist in church concerts and operetta and musical theater reviews. She has performed with the Denton Bach Society, Les petits violons, Fort Worth Opera Chorus, Casa Mañana Theatre, and the Ohio Light Opera. For several years she was a cantor at various churches in Los Angeles County.

She has sung with the Christ the King Singers in Dallas, TX and recently taught Music Appreciation at North Lake College in Irving, TX.  She currently teaches private voice lessons at MacArthur High School in Irving, TX and cantors at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth, TX.
